How did you first hear about WHO?

Got me thinking the other day, how did people actually find out about this place? I found out from some bloke who used to clear the secure waste bins when I worked for Citi in soton. Found out he was west ham and he showed me WHO on my pc. I often wonder if he still posts on here....
Anyone else got any shit stories like mine?

I think I was looking for Crystal Palace tickets for the play-off final and ended up on here. Not 100%

I wanted something West Ham that wasn't censored and sterile, like teh OS, so I googled "West Ham - forum - UNofficial" and up sprang WHO, top of the pops.
Worked a treat.

The guy who sat behind me directed me to WHO to draw my attention to the fact I had been mentioned in a post or two.
A sort of a “mate of a mate knows this bloke who………”
Well I was the bloke of the mate of the mate.
Before that I was ignorant to the world of message-boards.
Fucking long time ago though it was in the old West Stand

I googled West Ham and this came up, I had a look at KUMB and a look at this and said KUMB is not for me but I'll have a slice of this.
Cue Pancho mentioning something about food and slice etc.

Bloke I work with told me about it. He never joined but very occasionally posted in the old guest days as something like Gillingham pikee massiv.
When I first looked at it the site was awash with new manager rumours (Redknapp had left). I remember a thread about Vialli being phoned in a hotel somewhere about the job...........couple of days later Roeder got it!

I started off on The West Ham Forum which was OK, but started going downhill, a bit squabbly and was going offline quite regularly (anyone remember Stavvy?).
Then found KUMB and this via Google.
Main reason I never used KUMB was because the text seems to load really badly, overlapping when it first comes up for a few seconds.
Couldn't put up with that so settled here as a random third choice.

Internet wasn't even invented until the year after I left school in 1991 and the computers were those old shit things with Green screens.

I used to use F365 forums and wind up Tottenham and Chelsea fans with my mates.
My old man told me about this site, and said it was staggering. First thread I read was how bad Rio Ferdinand was as a defender, and how he'll never be a great, and we should sell him.
